Autumn sees the height of the mushroom season. Our all-day forays convene at 9.45am and run until about 4pm. They usually start at Abbey Cwm Hir Village Hall. They focus on finding the maximum range of edible species. The price of £70 per person (£30 for children over 10) includes a two to three-hour walk, followed by a three-course mushroom-oriented meal with hot drinks, field guide and tasting and preserving sessions. Guests take home any finds. Dogs and small children are welcome and free.

If you require accommodation there is a range of providers on our website, but feel free to discuss the options. We also offer tailored mid-week packages starting at £150 for a three-hour foray (numbers immaterial – so build your own group).
WARNING! Mobile phones don’t work within three or four miles of most of the woods that we visit, so don’t rely on them to make contact after 9.30am on foray mornings.
